Just like a glass of wine, my coffee palate changes with the season

Last night, I poured a glass of pinot noir—the first glass of red wine of the season. Typically, I enjoy pinot grigio, but as the fire crackled and the tree lights twinkled, I found myself craving a rich, cozy red wine to end the day. Like wine, my coffee preferences ebb and flow with the seasons.

Have you found yourself gravitating toward a dark roast or espresso over the last few weeks? You’re not alone. I, too, am embracing the full-bodied comfort of a dark roast lately. It’s like a warm hug, enveloping you from the first sip to the last drop. Normally, I favor a medium roast for its balanced flavor and ease on my stomach. But this morning, just like my transition to red wine, I instinctively reached for our Midnight Bliss dark roast—and that first sip was everything I needed to ignite my day.

The robust yet smooth flavors of this dark roast bring a sense of holiday cheer. With my kids counting down the final days of school, that bold cup was exactly what I needed to ground myself in the busy season. If you’ve been thinking about switching up your usual coffee routine, I encourage you to try new roasts, flavors, or brewing styles. Sometimes, even the smallest change can bring a spark of joy to your day.

As I savor my dark roast today, I’m thankful for moments of reflection and the chance to share a piece of my journey with all of you. The holidays can be a joyful yet challenging time. If you’re finding it hard to feel festive, I encourage you to take one small step outside your routine—whether it’s trying a new coffee, starting a new tradition, or simply pausing to enjoy a quiet moment. You never know the positive ripple effect it might have.

Wishing you all a season of warmth, peace, and joy—one sip at a time. Cheers, and happy holidays!
